Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
CNNMoney.com released their annual ‘Best Places to Live’ rankings.
Top Ten Best Places to Live in 2009
1. Louisville, CO
2. Chanhassen, MN
3. Papillion, NE
4. Middleton, WI
5. Milton, MA
6. Warren, NJ
7. Keller, TX
8. Peachtree City, GA
9. Lake St. Louis, MO
10. Mukilteo, WA
Note that no state has more than city ranked in the top ten. And after examining
the list, most of these communities require snow shovels. Of interest, Louisville,
Colorado, Papillion, Nebraska, Middleton, Wisconsin and Milton, Main were all on
the top ten list for 2006. Texas, Massachusetts, Ohio and Connecticut were all
tied with the most cities in Top 100 towns on this year's list.
California only had three cities in the Top 100. Walnut was ranked the highest at
70, Rancho Santa Margarita at 82nd and Clayton at 87. In 2008, Irvine was on the
top ten and Claremont was on the top ten list in 2007.
Not to express sour grapes, but CNNMoney.com has never really been a big fan of
the Golden State. We only need shovels for building sand castles.
