Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
Move over New York and California, apparently, Texas has the ’Best Cities for
Shopping’, according to the first ever ranking by Forbes magazine.
Forbes ranked the best cities for shopping based upon the nation’s largest cities
(600,000 to 8 million) complete with the number of retail locations, shopping malls,
sales tax levels and consumer price index. San Diego is the only city in California
ranked in the Top Ten. Los Angeles is 16th, San Jose 20 and San Francisco 25th.

1. Houston, TX
2. Dallas, TX
3. Baltimore, MD
4. Columbus, OH
5. Indianapolis, IN
6. Philadelphia, PA
7. Phoenix, AZ
8. San Antonio, TX
9. Jacksonville, FL
10. San Diego, CA
Of interest, New York was ranked 22nd but Miami, Cincinnati, Cleveland, St. Louis,
Kansas City and Minneapolis didn’t even make the list.
