Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
For their 9th annual ranking, for the Best Cities for Men's health, Men's Helath
magazine in their methodology identified that cities must excel in 35 criteria,
covering everything from air quality to employment, life expectancy to commute
times. In addition to the criteria already mentioned, they also compiled and
calculated data on death rates from more than a half dozen causes, along with
the propensity of male citizens to eat themselves into a weight problem (and not
exercise their way out of it). Of course, quality of life is as important as quantity,
so they finished by factoring in the ratio of single women to single men.

1. Seattle, WA
2. Madison, WI
3. San Jose CA
4. Fargo, ND
5. Burlington, VT
6. Manchester NH
7. Minneapolis, MN
8. Salt Lake
9. Lincoln, NE
10. Austin, TX
San Jose held it prominence from last year, staying in the top ten. Other California
cities in the Top 50 include: Anaheim finished 17th, San Diego 20th, Oakland 31st,
Los Angeles 46th.
