Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
The Dirtiest Cities in American feature some from California according to a ranking
by Travel and Leisure magazine.
Travel and Leisure rated 30 major communities in a survey provided to its readers.
The survey allowed readers to rate cities based upon several categories including,
peace and quiet, public parks and environmental friendliness.
The results are based on public opinion, both residents and tourists. So while the
ratings have come from people’s perceptions and not hard science it is important to
remember a huge part of travel is the way visitors perceive a destination.
Rating America’s Dirtiest Cities
1. New York
2. New Orleans
3. Los Angeles
4. Philadelphia
5. Las Vegas
6. Atlanta
7. Miami
8. Cleveland
9. San Francisco
10. St. .Louis
San Diego was rated 25th meaning it was at the lower end of the rating.
