Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
Kiplinger’s has released their annual ‘Best Cities for Business’ but with a
different spin this year. Kiplinger identified the ‘Best Cities for the Next
Decade.’
The ranking focused on places that specialize in out-of-the box thinking. Kiplinger’s
formulated a methodology that focuses on innovative communities that comprise of
smart people and great ideas. But their number one reason, the element that as they
put it super-charges a city’s economic engine is when government, universities and
business communities work together – the economic vitality is impressive.

4. Boulder, CO
5. Salt Lake, UT

This is a poor ranking. Where are the biggest innovations in the nation coming from? Think
California. Biotech, Nanotech and even consumer products, like the i-phone and don’t
forget the predator aircraft.
