California leads the nation in solar energy use but also as a producer of solar technologies.
A report from the Los Angeles-based organization Environment California identifies that at the beginning of 2009, the top cites in the state for residential solar use.
The following ranks the cities both large and small, that host the largest amount of solar power, measured in terms of numbers of solar installations (e.g. roofs) and amount of solar power (e.g. installed capacity) as well as those cities that host the highest concentration of solar power based on population.
