Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.

California retains its high ranking as one of the best states for technology
and science according to a new report by the Milken Institute.

The State Technology & Science Index tracks and evaluates states technology
and science capabilities and their ability to convert them into companies and
high paying jobs.

The Index looks at 79 unique indicators that are categorized into five major
components:  Research & Development Impacts, Risk Capital & Entrepreneurial
Infrastructure, Human Capital Investment, Technology and Science Workforce
and lastly Technology Concentrations and Dynamism.
